Hey guys, I'm coming up from Huntington for our game in October with about 12+ people.

I am looking at tickets on Stubhub and I'm wanting to go as cheap as possible since I'm the one buying tickets for everyone.

There are big bunches of tickets in the upper 500s for $6 a piece + Stubhubs ridiculous fees... but I'm wanting to know how strict are the ushers at Heinz for Pitt games? If there are open seats closer to mid field in the upper deck would anyone say anything to us or are we expected to sit exactly in our seats?

I understand the concept of "Getting what you pay for" but hoping if better seats are open, they wouldn't go to waste!

Thanks in advance.

In my experience, they're not strict at all UNLESS you sit in someone else's seats. In that case, owner of the seat(s) will ask you to move. And, if you don't, they'll then ask an usher to ask you to move.

Okay cool thanks!

Thats about the answer I expected! Not trying to step on anyone's toes but also trying the most out of our situation!

You guys are okay in my book. A Marshall guy ended up at our tailgate at the Fiesta Bowl. We partied and our dislike for WVU was a common bond. We Are ..... Marshall is the only We Are .....

@fedale hope you guys enjoy Pittsburgh and Heinz Field. I know many close friends who grew up big Marshall fans. Fine univeristy and a good football program, they always do things with class. They actually got me to adopt them as my second favorite team (besides, the enemy of my enemy is my friend ;) ), which is why I'm looking forward to the game. Good luck this season!

Wow you guys have been real accommodating!

I'd save your money bro and try to get tickets when in Pittsburgh. Honestly

You think so? I'd normally do that but we honestly have a huge amount of people. I think everyone would be comfortable with having ticket in hand before we get up there. Who knows maybe we surprise Louisville and you all make a run in your schedule and we both have some numbers next to our names in October and tickets might be few and far between!

I'm super excited for this game, we have an AirBnB in Pittsburgh that fits 12 of us and its apparently close enough that we can uber to the stadium in around 5 minutes

Really hoping we can get a 3:30 kickoff so we can drive up Saturday morning and not have to come Friday if it's a noon.

Any idea how soon we will have that information?

Interesting.
From a travel standpoint,I find 330pm games to be the worst. Pretty much have to leave by 7:30am to get into town at a comfortable time. Heading back after the game is out of the question.
I much prefer coming up the day before with the noon starts.

I feel regardless, plenty of tickets will be available, though I am the type who bbc would have bought them 6 months ago regardless of cost just to be safe.

Yeah, you'll be fine sitting in a better section once the game starts. Ushers are pretty easy, especially up in the 500s.

Well the Airbnb is rather costly with so many people, so it's preferable to only have to pay for one nights stay.

If it's 3:30 we can leave around 9-10, arrive around 12-1 get settled in and drink for an hour or two before the game and then after we can go get showered up and hit up the town for the night. Gives a lot of flexibility in both directions, but I definitely understand multiple viewpoints!

Please choose a car or bus as you mode of transportation.

West side stands are in shade, east side (Marshall sideline) are facing the sun and can be brutal if the day is sunny and hot.

Hey Fedal,

Did I see correctly on your schedule that you guys didn't open last week and go the whole 12 games without a bye week? Brutal.

Also I'm looking forward to the game down in Huntington in a few years. Probably one of the last times Pitt plays at a Group of 5 stadium (I believe Cincy is also on the schedule but by then they will probably be a Big 12 school).

Give the ticket office a call. Your best route might be to go direct.
