To get away with from Huggins and some actual Pitt basketball chatter, I heard a new source who is closer to the situation that he will be going the biggest bag route. He made what he thought was his top 3 (excluding Pitt) and I’ll put Pitt on the odds board as well, these are my odds and I will take all bets:

Indiana +175
Kentucky +225
Kansas +275
Pitt + 350
Georgia +600
Marquette +800
The Field even money

If he goes for the highest salary, I would think/hope Pitt could/would outbid others for a hometown kid. And we arent talking a ton of money here. He's going to average 12-15 PPG. I cant see someone paying 500K for 1 year of that.

UK could have an entirely different staff by the time the 2025’s arrive on campus since UK fans are growing frustrated and I believe this years crazy recruiting class is the only thing that kept Cal’s seat from getting hot this spring. Though it’s still a destination and they’d have another top coach if they did move on from Cal

UGA would be laughable. They have 0 history/tradition, 0 recent success, and a new coach without a huge national profile or connections up here. Losing a kid like this to UGA hoops would be similar to losing him to PSU hoops

Lol I never even said what he says I’m saying, either. I simply said he didn’t make 2 million and of course I was right
And of course with every passing year the going rates go higher and higher as school’s NIL operation/network get more established. And everything goes up. Nothing comes down.

That is true but $1.5 million for a 12 PPG 1 year rental is way overspending. You can get that for 200K in the portal

I think the market is gonna even out soon, especially if the IRS makes donations to a collective non tax exempt like they’ve been talking about. Gonna have to go to the good ole fashioned BAG

You can’t write it off for either one.

Yea, I figured that but then what the heck is BballinsiderfromPitt talking about? If he's saying that pay for play funds will no longer be able to be classified as 501C3s then how would that stop people from donating to them when they already cant write off their donations?

Some collectives tried to do it. They couched it in some language about how the deductible donations were put into a different bucket than the non-deductible donations, and the deductible donations were distributed to players doing charitable things - hosting camps for kids, showing up at a food bank, stuff like that. I don’t think Alliance 412 ever did that, but a number of collectives did.

A week or two ago, the IRS strongly suggested that it wasn’t allowed.

Do you keep up with current college athletic news at all? Lol. You’re so woefully behind and wrong on everything.
