Men’s Soccer Adds 15 New Players

Some additions and subtractions.
Subtractions:
Penaranda (JR GK) - started a bunch of games freshman year, but only played in 3 as a sophomore. Was a highly touted recruit. Don’t know transfer - maybe FIU?
Sessock (JR D) - consistently started as a freshman and sophomore. Transferred to Indiana. Top 125 recruit. Looks like he might have “traded up”.
Vaughn (JR D) - started a bunch as a freshman, but no starts as a sophomore. Transferred to St. Louis.
Cyriacus (SO M) - had two ACC starts late in the season in 2019. Transferred to Manhattan.
Hesson (SO F) - four starts last year early in the year and 16 appearances. transferred to Delaware.
A. Townsend (RS SO M) - three appearances last year in non-con play. Don’t know transfer.
T. Townsend (RS JR M) - two appearances last year in non-con. Don’t know transfer.
Stout (RS JR M) - one start and seven appearances last year. Don’t know transfer.
Ekpone (RS SR D) - started 15 games last year. Grad transferred to Syracuse.
Additions:
Campuzano (Grad GK) - Spanish transfer from Portland. Played in 13 games last year with a 1.16 GAA.
Loeffelsend (Grad D) - German. Looks like he was playing for a few fourth or fifth tier German clubs.
Crivello (SO D) - French. Looks like he was playing for fourth tier French clubs. Played for the French U16 team.
Amrani (SO M) - Moroccan. Was playing for clubs in the first tier of Morocco.
Lara (FR F) - Mexican who played at Montverde. Looks like he has some international experience prior to Montverde and was accomplished in the Mexico City youth circuit. Played for a team in the Mexican equivalent of the US Open Cup.
Jacquesson (FR F) - French. Played in the third tier in France.
Clagette (FR F) - came up through the Atlanta United system. Has four appearances in the USL 2 for Atlanta.
Shigaki (FR M) - Japanese who played at Montverde. Can’t find much about him.
Mirkovic (FR M) - Serbian. Looks like he might have originally committed for last year. Came up through the NYCFC system.
Belon (FR D) - Brazilian from Montverde. Can’t find much about him.
Peperak (FR F) - From Connellsville, and older brother Alex just graduated. Two time all-state.
Reiter (FR D) - from Sewickley. Was the PA player of the year and scored 55 goals as a senior. Joined the team in the spring.
Stricker (FR M) - from Reading. Played for PA Classics.

Hard to say. The French 3 seems similar-ish to the USL-2 that the Riverhounds play in. The Moroccan league? Your guess is as good as mine. It’s a whole lot harder just generally speaking to find info about guys (in English) who played most of their lives in the European youth system. But the kids who came up in American systems seem like they’re either (a) local kids who the staff has evaluated personally at their camps, or (b) came up through established development pipelines affiliated with MLS teams. There are a lot of Montverde connections, too, which is probably the best “high school” for soccer in the United States.
He was a forward in high school, but he was a center back in club ball and he’ll be a defender here at Pitt. 55 goals is not a typo.
