"It was really cute that you won so many conference games these past several years. But, come on.. you're Pitt.

Jamie Dixon is a fantastic coach... well, not good enough to win during college basketball's crucial month of March... but good enough for... Pitt..."

Glad Parrish and Goodman aren't our opponents. Last I checked you won games on the court, not in blogs from people that watch maybe our team 2 or 3 times per year. (Doubt Parrish is logging on espn3 to watch our Virginia Tech game.)

More from the national media....

"Jim Boeheim couldn't do anything against Jamie Dixon... and yet that wasn't enough for you... shame on you Pitt."

Wrong. Parrish and Goodman create perception. Perception is everything.

Not only them... most of the country is only watching Pitt 2 or 3 times per year. Probably in the NCAA tournament. That's our chance to battle perception.

Unfortunately, Jamie Dixon was an undeniable failure in those few, precious opportunities.

I'll admit I was a Jamie backer and was taken by surprise he choose to leave. Pitt wasn't in a po$ition to let him go and if my boss wanted one or two more attractive opponents on my schedule and was willing to up my recruiting budget so I could hire a more effective recruiter to my staff I'd do it . Jamie felt otherwise and choose to leave . End of story. Pitts is a bad hire away from BC basketball ,but did anyone truly feel that Pitt would be relevant in the ACC under the current coach and his staff. I envisioned more of the same hoping they could get to the upper middle of the pack of the conference. Pitts rolling the dice to improve come on 7 or 11!

Pitt is looking for ONE GUY as HC. They don't have to be the recipient of accolades from the national media to convince the majority; just one person. Pitt has a tremendous compensation package and an ACC/P5 job to offer.

The rest of it is just noise that people not involved in the coaching search except as spectators can choose to listen to, or not.

So what is your point? Barnes should have extended the 7 years remaining on his contract for another 7 years and paid him more money to stay???? Maybe 3-4 million a year???? Should Barnes have ignored the half empty arena and mediocre recruiting and not suggest any changes to the program??? Things were going well, right???

I don't give a rat's ass what self proclaim experts have to say about the coaching search. The only perception that counts are wins & losses.

Pitt was in danger of falling to the bottom of the ACC. (See Boston College) Barnes didn't want to see that happen. So he did his job and suggested changes to the program.

You don't want a better OOC schedule?

You don't want to hire better recruiters??

You don't want to play a more up tempo game that would attract better players????

Apparently you don't...

Maybe my feelings aren't clear through all of the sarcasm.

Yes, improve the OOC schedule.

Yes, hire better recruiters.

Yes, play more up tempo... for God's sake... stop running the weave for 25 seconds.

But what I really want is for people to stop acting as though the Pitt fan base somehow has a stain on it as a result of Dixon leaving. Please....

My apologies... Yes, I missed the sarcasm...
