I hope the ACC signs these bowls as part of their Tier 2 bowls in the new contract.

Currently, the Tier 2 games are in:
Detroit
Annapolis
Shreveport
St. Petersburg

Those are a diverse selection of cities but in my opinion, unless its the perfect situation (like Pitt fans only having to drive 3.5 hours to Annapolis), I think its a tough sell for fans of 7-5 and 6-6 teams to attend these games. Maybe if you had them play in Miami or Boca Raton, more would attend than in Detroit or Shreveport.

Yeah, there's nothing better than a Monday afternoon bowl game played in a baseball stadium a week before Xmas.

Did you see the Miami Beach Bowl yesterday? Neither did anyone else--anywhere.

Would you rather play in a baseball stadium in New York or Miami ;)

They would have to change the date to after Christmas and get a Power 5 opponent. Maybe ACC vs B10 at Marlins Park instead of Detroit?

Both of those bowls are in big financial trouble. They do not have named sponsors and the money will run out before too long. If someone comes in and sponsors the event it would be worth considering, but right now it is a bad idea.

I think we are still waiting on our blue-bonnet bowl money.

LATE-

For Pitt, Detroit is better because it's drivable.
I don't think a bowl game for a 6-6 team in Miami is going to draw well with any ACC team, including Miami itself.

zero chance of happening unless another P5 takes over the bowl, its moved to another venue and moved to after Christmas. Swofford would be shot.

At least the Independence Bowl has some history and an SEC opponent most years. That's not a terrible game to be affiliated with, especially for your 6-6 or 7-5 teams.

THERE ARE TOO MANY ****ING BOWLS....PERIOD....CUT OUT 10 OF THEM....my opinion...not meant to respond to any previous posts....as someone said before, they didn't even know there was a bowl game on... I am as big a college football fan as anyone and could care less about at least 30% of bowls.. I have enticed more than a few people to go to bowls in the past... last year at least 25..., people have real lives, real budgets, real expenses, I'm not going to be able to entice anyone to spend a couple grand to go to Miami the week before Christmas to see a 7-5 team play some other bum 6-6 team. Charlotte or Orlando this year I've had had 50 people for Charlotte, maybe 25 for Orlando....

It's biggest problem is that it's inaccessible, at least for most of the ACC. It would be better served as an SEC V Bis 12 matchup.

Not sure if it would have made much of a difference attendance wise, but why in the world do you play that game on a weekday in the afternoon? If I'm a local, I'm not taking off of work to go, but I might go for some entertainment at night. Weekday, daytime bowls make no sense to me unless it's New Year's Day.
