Just for funsies, I went back and looked at his SEC record for the past five years. 30-10 I believe. Both times Georgia Tech beat Georgia under Richt they were ranked in the top 20 - in November. Richt never had a losing season there, and he only had one year with a losing record in conference. All-time he was 83-37 in the SEC.
I think a comparison to Foge Fazio is utterly silly for obvious reasons, like the numbers above.
He's clearly a good coach, but maybe not an elite coach and that eventually got him fired.
I don't know if he'll bring Miami back to their glory days, but he's a damn good antidote to the disease Al Golden infected that place with. And at his age, if he's only there for about five years and turns the keys over to someone with the program on more solid ground both in recruiting and on-field play that's not a bad deal for Miami.
