I tried to find an alumni breakdown but couldn't. I did find a Fall 2011 (little dated I know) that shows which states are most represented in their undergraduate population.

1. Florida

2. New York
New Jersey

4. Connecticut
Massachusetts
Pennsylvania
Maryland
Illinois
California

You could see why a game in the Bronx would be appealing to them and the Yankees.

SMF, that was one of the main factors in the first ACC raid in including Miami. Aside from Miami being maybe the top program in the land at the time (2003) it really brings NOTHING to a conference. NOTHING. But one of the things cited was the ACC's desire to move into the NYC and northeast metro areas which is why they chose BC and thought Miami could help.

Let's face it, most Miami alum would prefer a great corned beef sandwich over a pulled pork plate everyday of the week.

This may be one of those zany SMF ideas but considering how poorly Miami draws in Miami Gardens, I think they should pull an ND move and play 1 home game a year rotating between smaller NE baseball parks. Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC.

I think Miami has to go back to owning NE recruiting. You know, they always used to come in and cherry pick the best of the best. Maybe playing more in those areas would help.

Miami is like a mini-Notre Dame considering their alumni demographics. Maybe it would be smart to play up north more for the exposure.

They cherry picked Bernie Kosar because our then staff (Hi Foge) decided "we have our QB" and we didn't recruit Kosar. That QB "that we had" ended up being more famous for being in the David Cone trade to the Mets than he was for anything on the football field.

Another late-entry attempt to lock up the Looniest POY?? Miami does get some away games up north....but the ACC wouldn't let them do something that dumb. Ya think Pitt, BC & Cuse kids would be happy giving up trips to Miami now & then? Miami is a small school, with a scattered fan base.......they'd not draw crowds anyplace like that.

The population from NJ and NY that go to the U are wealthy spoiled punks.

Does the OP truly believe that those trust fund babies even know where the Bronx is located....let alone have any interest in going there?

Well, they cant do worse than what they draw in the Dolphins stadium. And it doesn't have to be an ACC game. How about Miami/UConn at Fenway or Miami/Rutgers at Yankee Stadium. Miami/Temple at CBP. Miami/Maryland at Camden Yards or Nationals Park. All those games would draw more than playing them in Miami.

Nope. Those 4 teams draw bupkis, anywhere. There's no cache' in playing in a BB stadium, and Miami would have to pay the entire cost for the stadium & infrastructure. The only benefit the opponents would be travel costs. So Miami gives up ALL homefield advantage, essentially pays the travel costs for the opponent, and both teams play in strange surroundings. Destined for total failure. You should write for Marvel Comics!! ;)

You're exaggerating. They wouldn't give up ALL homefield advatantage. They'd have more fans than their opponent. If marketed correctly, and if they started playing well again, they could get 40,000 at games like these. That's better than 10K in Miami.

Your WAY overestimating the willingness of Miami fans to attend.

They'll show up if the team is in the Top 5. Otherwise, crickets.

Don't think so. And their fans in Miami would lose ALL incentive to donate or buy season tickets......oops, you don't believe in those things......well, some folks do. And I think they draw more than 10K.
