Maybe a #1 seed in the NIT is what we'll get now....And maybe it's what we deserve. As much as I'd like to see a NCAA bid the NIT is at least a winnable tournament if the team shows up and is motivated.I'm not going into selection Sunday with high hopes for a NCAA bid. That way I wont be as disappointed if it dosen't happen. What will be will be..
How's that?Got to love all the fans rooting for the NIT, and pitt poker liking all those posts.
Exactly. We have nobody to blame but ourselves. We had a chance to easily solidify a NCAA lock by even winning 1 of the last 2 regular season games. We failed. As I stated before, if we get an NIT bid I don't care if we are a number 1 seed I will not watch 1 second of it.And UConn is not helping. I am not pissed if we get passed by. Let's face it, if L'ville didn't banish themselves, we would likely be out. We did this to ourselves.
I'm not rooting one way or the other. You always want the best result no matter.I'm just not going in with high hopes that way I don't come away pis#ed like selection Sunday's in the past.Got to love all the fans rooting for the NIT, and pitt poker liking all those posts.
Looks like Lunardi has Michigan as a "first four out", so that win may not have helped them as much as it could have. And also, if we go with Lunardi who has us lower than most people, Michigan was 9 lines behind us. With palm has at least the same amount between us. If michigan wins one more, then I'm concerned about them jumping us. But they aren't jumping 9 teams with one win, and that doesn't cause the other 4 or 5 teams we are still ahead of to jump us. That win hurts st Mary, Monmouth, and cuse way more than us.
We need to get in by hook or by crook. We can worry about whether we deserve to be there or not some other time, we just need to get in. Losing to both VT and GT in our last two games was absolutely killer. This is the latest from ESPN:
Pittsburgh [21-11 (9-9), RPI: 52, SOS: 27] The Panthers didn't do anything crazy Thursday, which is to say they didn't knock off North Carolina in the ACC quarterfinals and didn't make their eventual NCAA tournament appearance a surefire lock. Instead they remained in place. What place is that? Joe Lunardi has Pitt among his last four in. We might nudge them a few spots higher than that -- into last four byes territory, so to speak. Your mileage may vary. Either way, the distinction between those spots is minimal. Wherever they lie on the S-curve by Sunday -- and it could change based on wins or losses elsewhere on the bubble -- the Panthers will be close enough to the cut to ensure the selection show is a nerve-wracking experience.
