I watched the first half of the Michigan State/Penn State last night. Izzo is a great coach. No disarray on their offense. Very little dribbling. And there is a lot of organization on their fast break. Lanes are filled. Passes are made. No one trying to go one on four and throwing up a highly contested shot.

I was also impressed with Penn State. They have talent. They have a transfer from Northern Illinois who plays center. He can block shots and use either his left or right hand around the basket. Very impressive that they only lost by five points at Michigan State.

Our Pitt team is in shambles on the offensive end. Way too much dribbling. Embarrassing. Our offense consist of dribbling into the lane and throwing up a wild shot. The guards refuse to pass the ball out of their drives. It has been that way all year. I believe that this is an indictment on our coaching staff. It started early in the year and hasn’t been fixed.

Rebounding is hustle and determination. It is my opinion that our guys have neither of the above traits. Lazy. Are they just happy with their NIL money?

The guards. Their three point shooting percentage is abysmal. Austin, number 31, and Amsal are all better three-point shooters than Lowe and Leggett. However, the guards take most of the three-point shots, many of which are contested or just bad shots. Coaching.

And lastly, it seems that freshman who come into the program do not get better as the years go on. Diaz brothers. Lowe has seemed to regress. Trying to think of players who have improved a lot under Capel but I’m drawing a blank. Our biggest success lately has come from transfers, such as Burton, Elliot, Hanson, and Leggett.

I am just like a lot of a lot of you - very concerned where this program is headed. H2P.
