Might Pitt enter the College Basketball Crown tournament?

The new 16 team tournament, owned by Fox/B10/BE/B12 only guarantees 2 spots per conference. I thought only teams from those 3 leagues were allowed to be in it. Now that I think about it, considering that it's in Vegas and several of our players are making very good money and can have some fun in Vegas, I actually do think we may accept an invite.

The problem with this tournament is that it's so late that many players from participating schools will have entered the transfer portal and oped out. It runs the day after the Elite 8 through the day before the National Championship.

If Jaland Lowe decides to return to Pitt, I'd treat this like "Spring Practice" to prepare for next year since they'll have 3 weeks between their ACCT loss and the first game in Vegas. I'd expect Delalic and Corhen to hit the portal immediately but beyond that, they'd have.

I have a feeling the players will be paid. Otherwise, why would anyone want to play in this? Even if it's just 10K or even just 10K in casino tokens, I think any non-first rounder would play for that.
