Jamie mentioned after the game that a redshirt is a possibility for Milligan. I knew this would happen, I kept waiting for the "injury" that would develop right around now.
Sterling Smith can flat out play, and with him, Jones, and Wilson, there just are no minutes for Milligan given that James will play 30+.
Milligan is talented, but he can use the year to get stronger, learn. Next year, it's not totally crazy to think that he and Wilson could both start together.
I'm not saying it's 100% definitive, but it just makes so much sense to save the year for him given that he really wouldn't get any minutes. And I think he's gonna be a good enough player that we will love having that extra year. This was a staple of the good years with Pitt. We always had those 5th year players who used the RS year to their benefit.
