Up 10 with 10:00 left, then back-to-back turnovers and we are tied. Costello, the Stanford grad transfer, is approaching 600 yards passing for Mike Leach, but also has 4 turnovers. I’m not sure I have ever seen a more feast or famine game by a QB.

His stats while at Stanford look pretty good on paper, but if you watched a lot of their games he was a big part of that team slipping the last few years. Very frustrating guy to watch.

He needs to be a lot better with ball security, but he has arcade like numbers throwing the ball today. Leach knows offense and Pirates. No doubt about that.

He is very slow and mechanical. He’s fortunate to be in an Air Raid.

Back on the ropes

You see flashes of LSUs talent, but MSU looked like the better team on this day

TD Miss State! 44-34. What a response after LSU evened the score.
Costello has thrown for an SEC record 623 yards!

Texas Tech just botched it as well. Took the TO with too much time left on the clock.

Kinda inexcusable for Orgeron to not have kicked the FG earlier. What’s the sense of scoring a TD when there’s no time left?

They still need a TD. Better to go for it on the 15 then get an onsides on what, the 40?

So it's better to go for a touchdown and run the clock out while doing so than it is to kick a field goal with some time still left on the clock to try to score again?

Really?

That dude for Texas Tech tried to screw up the coin toss, but fortunately for him the ref wouldn't allow it and told him what he was supposed to say.

Kicking the FG was the only minute chance they had to win the game at that point. Touchdown is meaningless unless there’s enough time to recover the onside kick and still have time for at least one more play.

What on earth happened to Texas Tech? That was a Pitt-level Armed Forces Bowl meltdown.

What an absolute el foldo from Tech late.

Was a dumb play on 3rd and 14 in OT anyway. They we’re lucky to get another chance.
