Boyd is getting attention as a First Round Pick proving Pitt Is It for another NFL potential great Player!

12. New Orleans Saints - Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh:
Boyd's smooth route-running and terrific body control remind some scouts of former Pitt star Larry Fitzgerald. Like Fitzgerald, however, Boyd must answer questions about his straight-line speed. Brandin Cooks may prove to be a star but the Saints need more.

Prospect Rating Of Tyler Boyd:
21 Tyler Boyd WR 2 Pittsburgh Jr 6-2 200
STRENGTHS: Boyd is able to stand out because he pays attention to the details and works his tail off to separate before and after the catch. Usually sure hands with terrific hand/eye coordination, attacking the ball with body control and determination. Despite not being a speedster, Boyd has gliding strides and mixes his gears well, using beautiful body fakes in his routes to emphatically sell patterns.

WEAKNESSES: Size/speed profile is average at best. He will have some focus drops at times. Needs to continue to get stronger for the NFL as he lacks the body power to consistently fight through tackle attempts and is disappointing as a blocker. Off-field decision-making also needs vetted after a DUI arrest over the summer of 2014.

COMPARES TO: Nelson Agholor, Eagles - Agholor has a little more twitch and Boyd is more detailed, but there are similarities on film between the two wide receivers.

IN OUR VIEW: As an NFL prospect, Boyd will likely be the highest-graded offensive prospect out of Pitt since Larry Fitzgerald in 2004.

Player Overview
The first player in ACC history to record 1,000-yard receiving seasons in both his freshman and sophomore years, Boyd has been spectacular on the field for Pitt, despite opposing defenses knowing he's the Panthers' only true receiving threat. Last season, Boyd finished with 78 catches for 1,261 yards and eight touchdowns, which was 57 catches and 1,060 receiving yards more than Pitt's second-leading receiver. He also shined on special teams as he led the ACC and ranked 10th nationally with a 27.6 yard kickoff return average, also finishing second in the conference in punt return average (10.1). Only one receiver in Pitt history has eclipsed 200+ career receptions (Devin Street), but Boyd should get there sometime in October, entering the 2015 season with 163 catches already on his r?sum?. He is also only 626 receiving yards shy of Antonio Bryant's school record (3,061 receiving yards).

I thought you were gonna say, SHHH - no one tell him, because he may just quit THIS YEAR and make sure he doesn't get hurt and ruin his draft chances, like Connor did. I'm more concerned about THAT then him coming back next year, which was never going to happen.

;)Pitt players today and years ago are better than all the Bama Players produced by Bama in the NFL! Exactly true. Everything, but hometown should push an elite prospect to Pitt if they want to go and excel in the NFL. That is correct. There is no argument there. Pitt has every positive with its Players in the NFL just like Ohio State, Texas, USC, Notre Dame, and Miami. Pitt is right up there with those Programs and Bama has less than Pitt regarding elite record breaking and awards. Boyd looks to be following that same path that has brought so much fame, money, and awards to previous Pitt Players!!! Read, Please Read!

:rolleyes:I am just glad he came to Pitt with Connor and both do well this year and in the NFL just like Fitzgerald, Revis, McCoy, Donald and a few more Pitt players are doing right now!
:DI hope and pray Robert Foster joins them too someday and :oops:Jripper88:oops: learns to read, Amen? I want more Pennsylvanians in the Pro Football Hall of Fame to keep Pennsylvania #1!:p

Obviously there is very, very little chance of him coming back next season. However, I think there's a bit more of a chance that Conner does stay here next season. If it looks like we could compete at a very high level and JC already knows he is staying, I could see him trying to convince Tyler to stay. Like I said though, it's a very slim chance and other than that I don't see any other reason that he would stay.
As for the scouting report posted above, I don't find it all that accurate. For one, making it sound like he has off the field problems is just flat out not true. It is what it is, but I don't even really consider it a "DUI". But, he was charged with one so I think you just gotta chalk it up as a simple mistake. Also, some of the weaknesses mentioned I just don't see. Yes, he will occasionally just drop a pass he shouldn't have. That's not often though, and other than that I don't see a whole lot more that I would list as a weakness.
