## Late getting to the boards; I enjoyed catching up though by reading the Dribbles, Cliff Notes, et al

## Ended up watching the game on tape delay (I actually DVR'd it) as I had some other plans Sat afternoon, and couldn't watch it in its entirety before the Steeler/Bengals playoff game

## Not sure that this poster's heart can take watching two nail biters simultaneously every week(end); Steelers' win was a gift; Pitt's win was earned - though in the end, on paper, one would've assumed that the Steelers should've won easily (they won the rushing, time of possession and turnover stat's), and that Pitt should've lost (ND's stat's were clearly better than ours, save for the FT's - guess they do matter!)

## Hugely impressed with the ease at which we blasted off to a 13-0 start; kids seemed really loose and poised; also impressed that the two big leads and subsequent two big comebacks by ND did not result in a loss. Again, the team showed poise and minimal panic

## ND arena (convocation center) is always a tough place to play/win; while I won't make excuses for Pitt's "lack of defense", it was obvious that the fans would not let the Irish quit playing, either. Both fun and frustrating game to watch

## Love the progression by Jeter - solid candidate for 6th Man of the Year; was he on the short list of Pitt players who were ready for a GLF this year?

## With Louisville's loss to Clemson, it obviously shows they're beatable - hope our kids can go there later this week and continue the roll . . .

I was surprised to learn that the students actually weren't back in town yet, classes didn't start until today. I will admit that for whatever the Joyce Center lacks in size it surely makes up for in Decibels. It was loud in there! I was with a group of about 30 and our "lets go pitt chants" couldn't really make a dent during the comeback. Excellent road win!!

Glad you were at the game and enjoyed the outcome! As I watched and listened it was apparent that there were some Pitt fans in the house, mostly from cheers when we scored. Couldn't hear the "Let's Go Pitt" chants; and when the home fans were chanting "Here we Go Irish" (or whatever version), I was mentally chanting "Here we go Panthers!" . . .

Hey Moe. What's the scuttlebut in Cincy today.
Rage against theSteelers? Rage against the officials? Rage against Burfict and Pacman? Or rage where it belongs, against Bengal management for employing these thugs with long negative histories?

wbr: can't say, my friend, as I relocated to Florida in 2010 (full time). My son still lives there (Cincy) and is a Steeler fan. He keeps me posted as best he can about the Cincy "mood", but honestly, I look to their on-line newspaper (Cincinnati Enquirer and Paul Dougherty's columns) for most of my info.

We (son and I) talked yesterday about the game, and both agreed that Marvin Lewis should be given the boot. But Mike Brown (Bengals owner) has always been pretty patient with Marvin so I don't see anything changing this year. As for the "rage vs Steelers", it doesn't surprise me. The Bengals' fans are so ripe for wanting success that their emotions have gone overboard. Listen, we (Steelers) are not choir boys! But for whatever reason we've been able to keep widening the gap between us and the Bengals while maintaining "some" composure. The Bengals have a litany of players over the years who've been known as thugs; and while we've had a few, too, for the most part, the Steelers get rid of the "bad apples"; the Bengals continue to draft and sign them. I think the "real" Bengals' fans have to be pretty embarrassed from what they saw on Sat night . . .

Thanks Moe. Didn't know you flew south. Bottom line with the Bengals is they are willing to employ people other's don't want and it cost them big time. If they had common sense and any kind of balls they would have cut both those thugs before the sun came up Sunday.

And they aren't about to get rid of Lewis. They will not pay a guy for not coaching.

the Bengals have become the the Raiders of the 70's . Professional Fb is not for sissies ,but their crazed Lb is going to seriously hurt someone. Mel Kiper had him rated the third best Lb in his draft year and because of his inability to control his emotions he went undrafted. The Steelers have had their share of thugs too a great scholar once told me "it is what it is" and that's how pro Fb is. As far as firing Marvin Lewis it's not going to happen ,but if he can't rein in his players next year and they underachieve maybe then.

I have two really good friends from the Cincy area I keep in touch with, and who are also rabid Bengals' fans. At times I think they see the football world only through "[Orange] colored glasses". I know that both have been really high on the Bengals' assistant coaches over the years. Interesting to note that two of Marvin's former disciples (Zimmer and Gruden) lost yesterday, but I think they are pretty good coaches, and should have continued success. Hue Jackson (the OC) will likely leave Cincy soon; either for the 49'ers or the Browns. And speaking of the latter . . . would you want to be a Cleveland Browns fan? Player? Coach? Talk about a dysfunctional organization!

I know a lot of Browns fans from the Canton area. I tell them all the time how lucky they are because they never have to wait very long to make their first pick on draft day. They usually grumble something unintelligible and walk away.

The Steelers should have been up by more than 15-0. The Bengals were lucky the Steelers were awful in the red zone. Shazier's hit was a fumble and should have been a TD and a 22-0 lead even after all of the missed opportunities in the red zone.
