## last night's game and outcome was about as good as we could have hoped for; our defense created turnovers, they converted their turnovers into points, and their excellent shooting enabled us to prevail quite easily, despite VT shooting 50% from beyond the arc - this was one of the few games played where the outcome never seemed in doubt . . . at least to this observer
## JRob set the tone early by making his first jump shot - and I think gave the team immediate energy; Sheldon Jeter had an incredible first half and overall game - hope that he's recovered from the concussion that kept him out of the FSU game, and was obviously still affecting him when we played @ Clemson
## I definitely liked the three forward concept - nothing against Maia, but he (Rafael) seems better suited to play at the mid-major level, while Sheldon looks every bit a P5 performer
## After criticizing Michael for his lack of play in the first half v FSU, you definitely have to give him a pass last night! Taking one "on the chin" (and also in the 'nads) and then coming out and playing aggressively in the second half was the key to our winning comfortably - when Michael kicked up his game and drew fouls, it shows just how tough he can be
## Love what #4 is showing off the bench - like others, I will forgive his defensive play and ball handling if he can contribute 6-10 points per game; he hustles, is enthusiastic, and provides a spark when needed
## Is there a better quartet of forwards in the ACC than Artis, Young, Jeter and Luther? How about these combined stat's from last night: 24-38 FGM/FGA (63%), 56 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 assists! Well, they clearly were the best quartet LAST night
## I read a few other posts which alluded to VT not having as strong of a front line . . . all I recall is that LeDay and Bibbs combined for 15 boards and were much more aggressive than we were, early on. The player that was the bigger "load" inside - Pierce - was too much a thug. Blackshear had the size but seemed "green". But clearly, they (VT) had a serviceable front line, and last night Pitt played "bigger"
## once we rebuilt the lead after game was tied at 23-23 (Luther's big 3-pointer) we never looked back. This was the result I was looking for; we didn't let VT back into the game, despite how hot Allen was, and how VT was touted for their comeback ability
## after a pitiful effort in the first 10 minutes, we "rebounded", and showed a lot more fight for rebounds (especially in the second half when we converted offensive ones into second chance points)
## 17-4 and 6-3; probably better than what was forecast in the pre-season. Still, the Panthers have to overcome the "bad loss" to NC State, protect the Pete, and steal a few wins against teams they're projected to lose to. If we play with the energy and confidence of last night's effort, the last 9 games could easily match the record of the first 9 games . . .
