More Bob Smizik remarks bashing Pitt!!!

"That beating Saturday at the hands of a good but not great Oklahoma State team was a complete and utter embarrassment of a once proud football program. The ‘Pokes could have hung a hundred on Pitt had they the desire to do so.

— This is not a statement about an on-campus stadium but the embarrassment extends from the field to the stands in the form of thousands of empty seats.

— Pitt’s moderate success in 2016 was, I think, an outlier. Two-star and three-star recruits will not bring the program back to anything close to national prominence. The occasional four-star won’t do it either. As discussed last week, when you’re “winning” recruits who choose Pitt over the likes of Akron, Bowling Green and Connecticut there’s a problem."

He's entitled to his opinion. But, his credibility takes a hit with the items he mentions:
....A 'good but not great' Ok St team? Lol. Does he follow cfb or rankings?
....Yes, attendance should have been higher, but it wasn't that unusual.
....He has no concept of recruiting. Pitt may get a few with those offers, but they are now going after bigger fish, which makes recruiting even tougher. Look at the offers, Bob!!

The media certainly doesn't paint a positive picture for Pitt, when it is needed to create more interest and community pride in the program.

Good but not great OK.State team? Is he kidding?? Or is he just stupid???? OK.State is a top 5 team and a hell of a lot better than PissU, who I'm sure he would say is a top 5 team but in reality, is fringe top 25. As usual, Smizik knows nothing about what he is talking about. Typical.
