Maybe I'm wrong but I wasn't overly concerned with how Pitt played Saturday. Narduzzi called YSU a top MAC team. I wouldn't go that far. I'd say they are a mid-level MAC team and I predicted 31-23. Problem is Akron is probably very equal to YSU and PSU dominated them on both sides. I don't want to read too much into PSU dominating a mid-level MAC team but if you look at how they came back vs Wisconsin and the first 3 quarters vs USC, maybe PSU has improved to the point where they are a legitimate CFP/National Title contendor. I realize we did beat Clemson last year, but if PSU is as good as experts think, it would take a Clemson or 13-9 to beat them. Not to say we cant do it but that's disheartening. Those are once a decade upsets and we had ours last year.

Uhh Clemson was ranked higher than Enabler U when we beat them last year. 1st loss at Death Valley in 3 years up to our win. I am not sold on Akron so there you go.

The real question is.......could this Pitt team do what last year's did against Clemson? I kinda doubt it. On the other hand, I can't imagine the 13-9 pitt team beating last year's Clemson either. Could this year's Pitt team do what the 13-9 team did? I kinda doubt that one too.So with those scenarios in mind......ya just never know. I'm hoping the BIG underdog factor helps us again.

Saw on Twitter today that Pitt 5x in the last 10 years were more than 2 TD dogs going into a game. Pitt won 3 of 5 of those games. The two loses were a total of 7 points combined.

So the once in a decade upset has happened 3x and were dang close in the other 2.
So, that's...
WVU 13-9
Clemson 43-42
Notre Dame loss by 3 in OT. 29-26

What are the other two? The win over VT with Chryst? What am I forgetting...

The win over VT may be it. Or that Thursday night win over that crazy-overrated USF team. The other loss is a tough one. What about 0-2 Pitt @ Nebraska but I think that was more than 10 years ago.

Were we maybe a big underdog during the late flag, re-creating Oderick Turner offensive PI call vs Rutgers?

The post was by Chris "The Bear" Fallica from College Gameday.

Looking at past Pitt schedules I can come up with 4 of the 5. WVU (13-9), Clemson (45-44), ND (29-26L), VT (35-17).

I saw a site that said USF game Ray Graham went off, Pitt were only a 2 point dog.

Potentially Wanny squad that beat USF on the road with Bill Stull.

And that 2012 team was pretty bad. We lost to Youngstown, yet if not for the officials gift wrapping a W and undeservedly handing it to the Irish, we beat a team that after that ending up playing in the national championship game.

The bottom line is anything that happened more than three seasons ago doesn't mean squat because virtually nobody associated with the program today was around back then.
That Pitt script doesn't have any real magic in it. (I know, that could get me banned !!!)
Looking back 10 years is entertaining, but it is also a silly exercise when trying to determine what might happen Saturday.
Think about it this way: How much did that Notre Dame mystique help Gerry Faust?

Well I think a lot of people hitting the panic button over the YSU game should take note of the past and not write Pitt off or think they'll lose by 40.
