Now that I have calmed down and got some sleep I can say that I’m not as upset about last nights game as I was in the moment. Getting blown out by 30 is hard. I said some things I may or may not regret.

One last look at Clemson.
1. Defense kept Pitt in the game for a while but every second half punt killed their spirit.
2. Pickett folded under the pressure of the moment and that Clemson D-Line. Wake stopped our run but Pickett played good because he had time to throw. Miami and Clemson pressured the QB!!!
3. Lack of creativity from the OC. The play calls drove me crazy all night and all season. I very seriously want Matt Canada back ASAP. Canada’s offense seemed to get guys wide open with scheme and Watson’s offense leaves a lot to be desired.
4. Coaching decision to throw at the end of the first half instead of trying to get to halftime down 21-10. Worst overall decision of the game. Reminded me of the Penn St game when the punter dropped the ball and set up PSU for an easy score right before halftime. Plays and decisions like that cost the team points and momentum.

Moving forward.

Pitt needs to (Big Picture)
1. Find a way to win the Coatal again next year.
2. Figure out what happened to the offense.
3. Take a serious look at the OC position.
4. Take a serious look at the QB position.
5. Defense returns a lot of guys.
6. I hear so much about how the Coastal is garbage and Chris makes the point all the time that it doesn’t really matter. I think that Pitt needs to step up and be the team that consistently wins the division. If they can find a way to be that team, even in a garbage division, over time they can transition into more national limelight.
