I heard on the radio that his people denied reports that he wouldn't accept the reduced buyout. Sounds like he reconsidered if it's done this quickly.
Hopefully nutting threw in free tix behind home plate and he agreed to drop the buyout
Now we can only hope that the NCAA drops the one year penalty for transfers
The easy part? You’ve stated nearly daily this season that Pitt would never fire him because they’re too cheap.
Well isn’t that why he just said the firing was the easy part. By all reports so far, they haven’t accomplished or agreed to anything on the terms yet.
How does that make any difference? He’s out. They have no choice but to pay what it takes now, even if that means by court decision.
FS has posted all season that KS would get a third year because we were too cheap to fire him.

I never wanted him and I never wanted him to continue as the HC I just wanted to be wrong because I didn’t want to see Pitt bb sink to the level they’re at . I’m pro Pitt and if Joe Blow is the coach I’ll hope he succeeds too whether I like him or not .
We could cite probably hundreds of examples in earlier threads where Fsgolfdr assured us we would be sitting through Stallings for at least another year.
I want Pitt to win ACC titles and make final fours , but Pitt hired a coach who had a long resume of
mediocrity . That’s not a school wanting to win . Glad they made the move now let’s see whose next .

The last two just disappointing. There is not much comfort or solace in - I mean this as a compliment to the team - “they didn’t quit, they tried”.
I just don’t have the confidence in Lyke that she can find the right coach, and negotiate to make the Pitt job attractive.
It is the rebuild of the rebuild of the rebuild that now unfolds. I hope that I am dead wrong.

Pittsburgh isn't really a college hoops powerhouse. Yeah they've had a few good teams in the past 15-20 years Knight/Page squads, Fields/Blair squads, but when it comes to breaking through they always blow it. '09 was a prime chance for the Final Four and they still probably would have brought home zero hardware. Although Sean Miller always chokes, he can at least pay for you guys to bring in a class of 3-4 McDonald's AAs to turn the program around.
I am not sure if serious but this will never happen. Arizona is a more prestigious and better program right now than Pitt. Either he is going to still be at Arizona with being vindicated, or he is going down for paying players and will have a show cause penalty that will end his career.
Not an option at all.
