Narduzzi and his wife are URI alums. They attended the A10 final last year at PPG. SMF was also in attendance. Coincidence? Maybe Pat could put in a good word.

Actually, not that this means much but when they interviewed Hurley after the game he said something like he loves Pittsburgh and didn't want to leave, something to that effect, because he's had a lot of big wins here. At first, I didn't understand what he was talking about then I remembered he beat Pitt with Wagner. Maybe he also had success with SHU here and against RMU too, not sure.

Also, Lamar Patterson played HS ball for him, didn't he?

Dude, perhaps you should rest your head on your desk for a little while.

While that is great info Pitt is not going to put all of their eggs in Danny Hurley. He will be one of a few candidates.

He played for Seton Hall in the early to mid 90's, everyone had success against Pitt back then.

And yes, Lamar Patterson did play for him at St. Benedict's. It was actually rumored that Dixon might hire him on to his staff from St. Benedict's, but that obviously never happened.

Right but if attendance matters at all, then Hurley will be the only semi-realistic option who will create enough excitement to sell tickets in Year 1. Fans would be excited enough to sit through a bunch of losses. If we go the mid-major route, attendance will be up slightly but the place will still be a morgue until we start winning.

Disagree. A rising mid-major guy brings upside and thus - hope. This fanbase has learned to live on hope.

Fans will show up next year simply as a "thank you" for having their Stallings grievances redressed.

I (like others) could have found reason to be positive with a range of candidates in 2016. Stallings was simply the obvious worst possible choice. I actively disliked him even before the Jeter stuff.

Next guy... if Lyke is competent at all, will bring the fans back.

Winning will bring fans back

Hurley would bring them back. He's a brand. But they'd have to start winning in Year 2 for fans to stay. A no-name may bring back some diehards who protested Stallings but it won't be real significant. Too much unknown. Fans will take a wait and see approach. If its Hurley, Pitt fans will be rejoicing and we'll sell a to of season tickets on excitement and hype alone.

Out of any realistic option and considering just name alone I honestly think Knight puts more butts in seats compared to anyone else.

But to reiterate my stance, KS getting year 3 is the most likely option.
