Narduzzi has been named the nation's top-ranked 1st-Year coach

Very interesting? What do they base it on, considering he's never been a head coach before? I hope he's finally the guy to lead Pitt back to being relevant, but I'm amazed at all the hype before he's done anything.

That's great. But its not that hard to see why he's on that list, although he hasn't coached a game. He is a fantastic mind when it comes to the game and he has rejuvenated Pitt football to a different level. Good stuff!

...he has rejuvenated Pitt football to a different level.

Based on what? I'd have to see a record of 8-4 or better to really start believing in anybody! We've been 6-7 or 7-6 for like 4 straight years now. So this guy comes in saying all the right things and displaying a lot of energy and so many people think he's solved it all, I hope it's true, but I have to see the results 1st to heap a lot of praise on him.

The way I see it right now....."So Little Done And So Much To Do"....the Football Program just got an Athletic Director 3 days ago, won't have New Uniforms until next year, and recruiting is slow to low and with an unproven Staff that often needs tweaking after a Head Coach first few years???

So many questions, so many unknowns, and so many high expectations, and so little rebuilding of the Program still needs to be done. In the vision of Chancellor Gallagher to be implemented by Athletic Director Scott Barnes and dependent on the Coaching of Coach Pat & Staff as well as Coach Dixon & Staff is an enigma with high hopes more than any accomplishments.

Yet, none of these tall tasks, disorganized New Staffs and Athletic Department seem to be phased by the job ahead of them. They are all just doing their jobs, doing what they think they need to do, and ignoring anything that seems to be take their focus off of what they to do. This shows me an attitude of no fears or concerns. Just pure "Youngstown Football Roots Guile", sense of purpose and hard nose coaching, thinking, and doing.

I cannot put my finger on it, or can read any Tea Leaves? Still, this is a man that has his nose to the grindstone and just indicates to me the more I read, Coach Pat Narduzzi is not going to be a Mediocre Coach and will show it this year?

Coach Pat is really going to be a huge success and will stay at Pitt a long time so long as he gets along with Chancellor Gallagher and Athletic Director Barnes gets along with Coach Pat, unlike how it was under Nordenberg-Pederson of Personalities?

Or Coach Narduzzi will be a huge failure and let down by his judgements on choosing his Staff more than anything, but for some reason, I do not think that is going to happen and I cannot explain why either at this time, just another Pure Hunch!

If Pitt wins just 6 to 7 games then Coach Pat needs more time to make his Staff and this Team his own and we shall see, just like we did under Harris, Wannstedt, Graham, and Chryst that all had trouble adjusting, re-building, and maintaining their systems at Pitt? Walt's West Coast to Wanny's Pro-Set & Defenses to Graham's No Huddle & QB back to Chryst's Pro-Set & No Special Teams to Coach Pat's Flying Defenses???

If Pitt pulls a Cleveland Cavs and gets major injuries to a few Star Players like Boyd, Voytik, Conner, or Offensive Line and is snake bitten with some losses as they adjust losing some of those Players, well then we will see again???

Yet, if Pitt wins 9 to 10 Games and I still think that can happen, Well Folks, we have a Top Unique Coach that I feel in my bones, and Just a Hunch right now, and then hopes will be turned into dreams we have been waiting for a Pitt for a long time!!!

We will know soon in less than 90 days???

I love the confidence and some backing for the coach, but do think it is hilarious that some of the same folks pumping this type of article/ranking are the same ones who bash anyone who mentions falling short on recruits or recruiting rankings. This is even more of a shot in the dark ranking with FAR less meaning for actual results.

Cool press for Pitt and CPN, but almost utterly meaningless.

Alot outside seem to think this. But Pitt finished 3-7 last year and has a losing record during this coaching carrousel.
