The Duzz's unwillingness to change his schemes so that overmatched corners get some help is really derailing what could have been a pretty nice season. Furthermore, we have rendered an all-american safety useless in this scheme. He is stuck inside defending a part of the field that the offense is not attacking.
I would like to see a scheme change until we can get the players he needs to run the press one-on-one coverage. We at least have to slow teams down and at least get opposing offenses interested in running the ball. It is just to easy to pass down the field on us right now.
If we are going to continue the same scheme, we might as well start Hamlin now since the redshirt got burned tonight. Sometimes it pays to be a little flexible, and open to change. In a different scheme, teams may still score alot against us but at least we might be able to make them work for it.
