Courtesy of the Trib. And I, for one, am happy he isn't either form of PC! Love the (not so?) subtle jab at Penn State.

Narduzzi, at first, praised Peterman as “one of the most accurate quarterbacks I’ve been around.”

Then he added this zinger: “Is it play-calling? Yeah, of course. You can have a talented quarterback with a bad play-caller and make him look bad. We’ve seen that around the country, some closer than others.”

Can't wait until James from State College calls into the FAN later. "Did you hear what Narduzzi said, do you think he meant Hackenberg here at Penn State?"

Chryst built a good foundation especially with the O-Line which is crucial. Definitely had the power football run game going. Unfortunately with Pederson strangle holding him with money for assistants, he made an awful one in hiring Matt House. I really think Chryst's tenure looks a little better if anyone else is D-Coordinator the last two years. That being said, Narduzzi is the complete package. The timing in all of this somehow just worked out brilliantly for us.

The House hire never made any sense from the point of view of Chryst or even Pederson.

No joke the very first defensive play against Florida State in 2013 I already knew the guy was a failure. He had the corners giving FSU a 10 yard cushion and allowed them to catch every pass thrown to them and just try and tackle them before scoring. And it wasn't just because FSU was the best team in the country, this went on for 2 straight years!

Under Walt Harris Pitt had some really good offenses paired with really bad defenses. I never thought it could be any worse than the '03 defense, they were absolutely putrid. But Matt House amazingly topped it by basically conceding 10-15 yards every single play. Take any high school coach and make him Pitt's defensive coordinator and Pitt is probably somewhere around 9-3 last year. Second half of the year they had an offense that was up there among the best in the country.

As much as Narduzzi could probably turn any defense into a good one, the no talent excuse is proven to be bogus. Matt House just flat out knew nothing about football.

He hired house because he wanted to... Not because of budget.
Same reason he wanted to bring him to wisky

Gotta love our Head Coach !!!

He just said what everyone is thinking... Including the QB over there in Nittwitville.

Yep.
Look at who else he brought to wisky. Brechterfeld, haering, Rudolph, etc. Would the huddled masses be singing the praises of Pitts admin if they announced that those guys got raises?

Most coaches like people they've worked with. There's a comfort level there. Maybe that's the case here.

Completely incorrect. Chryst made his own terrible hires because the guy was/is in over his head. He is a coordinator, who needs to stay out of the media and let others do the recruiting and hiring.

I was just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt considering Pederson ruined the program. But no way around it, the House hire was ridiculously awful.

Not long ago posters were practically begging for PC and his staff to stay.

Heck, there were quite a few on here singing the praises of the hiring of Mike Haywood. It is amazing to watch...including the love shown the former AD by many. I think Pitt has it right at the moment. Hail to Pitt!
