It better be huge with an even bigger buyout. Some yearly incentives would be nice too.

If I were Pitt I'd announce it at a press conference next week, 2 weeks before the game on a Tuesday or Wednesday after we've had a couple days to analyze the Stillers punt coverage unit's performance.

Normally, most of your bowl ticket sales are in the first few days after so you have the press conference next week when sales slow down. Clips of the presser are on every newscast and radio update. Narduzzi gets fans fired up and urges them to show up ti support this team. Barnes takes questions about the Tier 1 snub and tells Pitt fans we cant change the past but this is a new Pitt and we want to fill the stadium in Annapolis, that the team deserves it and it'll help us get better bowls going forward. Basically, a ticket - selling pep rally for those on the fence.

Good idea. I like it.

I don't understand this rationale at all?

This dude gets a raise so I'm going to go buy tickets to a football game that's being played four hours away that I was not originally going to attend, all to celebrate his raise?

Uh, okay.

Agree,

I think you do it after the bowl game (or sooner of course if needed), to spur momentum for recruiting.

Nope. It gets Pitt news on TV during a very slow period for Pitt sports. At the presser, Narduzzi and Barnes thanks the fans that bought tickets and give a little sales pitch to get more fans to come.

The casual fan that doesn't read this board has no idea how many tickets are sold. At the presser, lets say 7500 are sold by then, Barnes says that and tells fans, "we want to make this a home game. We'd like to have 15,000 Pitt fans there. Come and be a part of a great day for Pitt football." The casual fan may want to be a part of that.

Already fan boys over the guy, and this was before he coached a game. I hope he can recruit and win games. I like coach narduzzi, but at one time, Hoopies thought they found Rockne and they have a Rock.

Per a previous Sam Werner comment from AD Barnes that it was done a few weeks ago. Maybe with the James Connor situation they decided not to announce anything until we get closer to the bowl game.
