One of the things I love about Narduzzi is how honest and entertaining is in his interviews and press conferences. For me, Pitt football is like a TV series. Its not just the games I watch and am entertained by, I also watch the press conferences and the Pitt Live Wire stuff. With Chryst, he was so boring, it was unwatchable. Not only could he not speak coherently, he never said anything of substance. His press conferences were a waste of time. That would be fine if he won games, but he didn't.

Narduzzi said several things of note during last week's press conference and really, some of them, maybe he was even being too open and honest.

- Said he had a say in bringing in Barnes when asked about their relationship. Made it sound as if part of the agreement between he and Gallagher was that Narduzzi was going to talk to the AD prospects and have a say. Said he and Barnes have a "great marriage." I appreciate his honesty but perhaps Narduzzi shouldn't have revealed this detail especially if Dixon didn't get a say.

- Said he probably wouldn't be here if there wasn't a change in the AD position. Couldn't tell if he meant he felt SP wouldn't consider him or that he would never work for SP. I think we know that answer though. Again, love the honesty, but probably didn't need said.

- DiPaola asked about Rutgers. Now, he could only give one answer here no matter how honest he wants to be. He HAD to deny any interest which he did but from what I can tell, he seemed very sincere and didn't seem like he was lying. Personally, I believe RU called his agent and his agent said tell us your price and we'll talk. That's what any good agent would do. As I said, anybody would take any job for the right price. If RU came up with $5 million for him, maybe he takes it. So, why not see where the market is at? Regardless, he vehemently denied any contact with Rutgers and brought up Salem recruiting that area almost as if to say that's why they made it up.

Gallagher said BOTH coaches....maybe Suzie, too??....would interview the AD candidate and provide input. Which is what ANY CEO would do. Dixon has seniority over Duzz, and a bigger paycheck.....no way he wasn't consulted.

Suzie was on the search committee. Narduzzi and probably Jamie (hopefully) also had a say.
