National Champ Will Be?

Oklahoma will beat Georgia, might do it rather handily. I really can'y call the Clemson / Bama game. Clemson QB is the wildcard, and neither team is as good as they were last year.

So I'll go Oklahoma as the champ.

Can’t get rid of thinking about OU....
Then Baker shows up sick.

Anybody But Bama is the wish

Oklahoma outscores UGA in a shootout, Clemson wins in the last several minutes over Bama... and Oklahoma to win its second straight National Championship

Bama over Clemson
Georgia over Oklahoma

Bama over Georgia

Robert Foster gets another ring he can sell later.
I'm all in with Clemson. But I have a bad feeling Bama is just lying in wait like a big old tiger. No expectations and no pressure coming in as the 4 seed.

No clue. Probably winner of Clemson-Bama. Bama stil favored by 3, which I find moderately surprising considering their defensive issues lately.

Rooting for Clemson but hard to pull for any of these teams too much.

The answer to the question is....

WHO CARES

I am not going to watch this staged SEC lovefest and encourage everyone else not to tune in

"Staged". LMAO

Seriously based on MERIT

You telling me Bama deserved the 4 spot over ...

Ohio St
USC
UCF
and even Wisoncson which lost its last game like Bama made it to the confernce championship game unlike Bama had one more win than bama and same number of loses

So yes, if you go by MERIT, this was STAGED!

I'll go out on a limb and say an SEC team.

Definitely not an SEC team. The SEC stinks and Georgia and Alabama are dogsh*t teams. Bama winning it all is probably close to 10,000 - 1 odds.

You’re damn right I am. They are head and shoulders better than any of the teams you list and were all year. The committee got it right-these are the 4 best teams in the country.

If Wisconsin would’ve beat OSU, they would have gone over Bama. And that would’ve been a travesty-Wisky would’ve been embarassed by any of the other three playoff teams. OSU? 2 losses, one by 31 points to an unranked team. USC? A loss to weakling WSU and a 35 point shellacking by ND. UCF? Weak schedule. 103 out of 127 to be exact/ you’re gonna put them in over a 1 loss SEC team that was in the national top 5 all year?

I am not doubting that Bama is better than the teams I listed, but you did NOT disprove that based on MERIT that they deserved to be in.

There is a huge distinction between a better team and what a team has earned on merit!

I am eagerly awaiting your response to this

What’s your definition of merit? How about losing one game and not 2? How about not getting blown out by an unranked team, or any other team? How about playing a real schedule and in a real P5 league? How about dominating a tough schedule? How about doing all of those things while returning most of your team from last year’s national runner up?

I’d like to see an 8 team playoff so these kids of issues don’t come up. But until fhat happens, and the idea is to put the best 4 teams in the CFP, you’d better get used to seeing Alabama every year, and Clemson and OSU most years.

A real schedule? I guess you didnt look at the "wonderful" OOC schedule for Bama. Somehow SEC teams get a pass on scheduling nobodies in OOC.

So that comment doesn't fly.

So Wisky P5 team playing no worse a OOC schedule than Bama, one loss just like Bama, lost the last game just like Bama, won one more game than Bama doesn't merit a spot over Bama?

Do you really think Wisconsin, playing in the lowly B10 west, played a comparable schedule to Alabama? Well, the statisticians who rank strength of schedule disagree with you.

I keep forgetting Clemson lost to Syracuse. I’m sorry, was that the same as losing to Auburn? Maybe Wisky should have been in over Clemson? At least Wisky’s one loss was to a real team.

Sorry dude. You’re just dead nuts wrong. I’ve had enough of the debate. You may have the last word, because iI’m reasonably confident it won’t be any more persuasive than your first 5000 words on the subject.

If you want to be a SEC "ball" washer why don't you go jump on one of their bandwagons

This sec champ game is exactly what the selection committee wanted. IMO...either way I don’t care much but would rather see UGA pull one out.

The playoff committee's job isn't to look at your personal view of "merit", it's to select the four "best" (actual term used in their charter) teams. They did their job well this year.

I agree they did select the four best teams in college football. However they could have seeded the sec schools vs. each other in the first round. Simply to avoid the sec NC game. I like hearing everyone cry that Bama didn’t even win their conference, that OSU should have been in....well bama vs osu, bet a years salary....then who u got??
