I doubt that many senior athletes will take advantage of it. Most are not going pro; most only are on partial (if any) scholarships. I doubt many will come back for another year. Particularly if they already have lined up jobs or have been admitted to grad school. Life goes on.
Underclass athletes will not be required to make their decisions as quickly, but I think that more of them will take advantage of it since they will be able to plan their schedules more appropriately with more time to do so. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a pretty significant number of them drop their classes this semester and return to school in the Fall.
