NCAA targeting rule...

Does this mean that Navy will have to change some of their chop blocking techniques?

The tackle box includes the entire field when Navy takes the field. They would never break a run to the outside without their players diving at the shins of Linebackers and Safeties on the outside.

Maybe they will turn it into flag football, of course the flag hangs below the waist, so that might not work either

I agree, cut blocks are dangerous and any chance to limit when they can be used is fine with me.

Cut blocks, in and of themselves, aren't dangerous. Have been a part of the game forever. Players standing still is what makes them dangerous. So many guys play flat footed now because they get to the point of attack so quickly. They set up and plant their feet.

I'm okay with taking them out of the game. But it does change the game significantly.

Mark Emmert must have watched our bowl game and saw all the chop blocks and blocks below the waste down fields and said enough is enough. Like to see that game play out without the dangerous blocks!

I disagree. Any time someone throws their body full speed into your knees and ankles, it's dangerous, but I guess you could argue so is football in general. I loved cutting people as a WR, but I hated it when I coached defense a couple years later. I wouldn't want them eliminated all together because it's the only way for players at a size disadvantage to block larger defenders, but WR's cutting on the outside like the service academies do is a bit much for my taste.
