Lots of bracketologists have the SEC getting 14 out of their 16 teams in while the ACC only gets 3? I think the ACC will get 4 but it's certainly possible they only get 3. SMU having 0 Q1 wins and only with a shot at 1 more (home vs Clemson) make it really difficult for them to get in. I think Wake finally gets in unless they choke. 3-0 vs Pitt, SMU, UNC but got lucky that 2 of the 3 were and in the road game, Boopie didn't play.

Not like either of those two numbers would be undeserved. I've seen enough games from each conference to discern that they're really not close.

And we don't need the ACC to be better; we just need Pitt to be better. If we can't win with this conference in its current state it's going to be tough to win in a much improved version of it.

Yea but I think a team like SMU is pretty good and could go like 7-11 or 8-10 in the SEC which would get them in.

And yes, we do need the ACC to be better. That may not have helped us this year but we shouldn't have been so close the last 2 years. If the ACC was better, I think we get in easily the last 2. Those were 3 very good teams. This year's team isn't that good.

And we would have won less games if it were better. 12-8 last season - it's not as though we were knifing through the conference as if it were a warm stick of butter. In a significantly better conference, we'd have just been like 7-13 and not even in the discussion. The non-con still was what it was.

6-12 SEC teams are going to the tournament soooooo

6-12 SEC teams are going to the tournament soooooo

Ones that beat absolutely nobody OOC and lost at home to a team that finished 0-18 in its conference?

Who you play and what the individual results are still matter. It's not like they say, "Okay, this seems like an 8-bid conference. This seems like a 5-bid conference. Etc."

If you go 6-12 in your conference and make the tournament, it's because, in addition to your conference being loaded, you must have done some good things outside of it.
