ND has 45 coaches and support staff for FB

On field/recruiting restrictions is one thing, but there shouldn't be limits to the off field areas.
If you recall this was once related to a Post on Bama having 31 Staffers and you defended it quite well. There is on CBS Sports now a list of Programs that all have more than BAMA and winning far less. It also goes by Conference. Just goes to show BAMA is getting more Wins with less Staffers!

If I was a Coach my first action would go to Saban and learn from him how they do it at BAMA, then I would visit Clemson, Ohio State, and Northwestern! Learn how they do it and teach how to execute and recruit!
Excerpt:
Notre Dame at 45 is followed closely in the top five by Texas (44), Georgia (42), Auburn (41) and Michigan (40). It's the last two categories -- football ops and off field/recruiting -- that are unlimited. Using just those support staff numbers, Georgia (23) is No. 1 in the survey, followed by Clemson (22), Michigan (22), Texas (22) and Alabama (20). Notre Dame is credited with 19 support staffers.

Nah, Alabama has way more than that, but there is no need for them to disclose and different programs are reporting by different guidelines. However, schools certainly should be able to dictate the investment they put back into their program. The NCAA essentially tried to do this once with limiting salaries and lost. They will lose even bigger if they try to do this with staff size.
