Nebraska just choked

I'll be so irritated if PSU wins. Is Debeer healthy enough to be effective?

Harper Murray apparently had a nervous breakdown and almost left school after Nebraska lost to Texas in the finals last year. She read a lot of stuff on social media about how bad she played and blaming her for the loss.

I hope she has permanently eliminated social media because, other than a 6-point service run, she had a bad game against PSU. Nebraska overall had 22 hitting errors and she had 10 of them. She only hit .172. She had three service aces but also three service errors. And, she had 4 receiving errors and one blocking error. That is 18 points given to PSU.

Remember, she was the National High School Player of the Year as a HS player and was a huge get for Nebraska because she is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and both of her parents were varsity athletes at Michigan. She is an excellent player but the expectations just were too much. She was an All-American this year, but I think that was due to her reputation as much as her play. She is like Elia Rubin from Stanford, who was the HS Player of the Year one year earlier: an excellent player but not a dominant one. If you are picking the two outside hitters on the AA team, they have to be Babcock and DeLeye of Kentucky. Third would be Kennedy Martin from Florida. They are the three most dominant players.

Murray was pressing. PSU really went after her in the fourth set. Remember, blocks count as a hitting error and that accounted for most of her errors. Take away half of those blocks and she's up to 0.300. And that's why Andi Jackson had such a big game. Nebraska had to exploit PSU's middles cheating towards Murray. Wasn't like PSU blew they out or anything. They just sort of sold out to that block and Jurevicius blew up. She's a big reason for their run. PSU has almost no offense from the right side for most of the season but they stayed patient with both of their freshmen and over the last few weeks, Caroline turned into a player.
