While you weren't paying attention, tournaments were added in Jamaica, Cayman Islands, the Florida panhandle and some that I am forgetting.

Before all these new tournaments were added, you could have an 8 team tournament with teams represented from the P5 leagues, Big East, and 2 other good teams from MWC, WCC, American, A10, etc.....but now since there are so many tournaments, those teams get spread between too many tournaments resulting in most of these only having 2-4 "brand name" teams instead of 6-8.

Honestly, I wished the NCAA would just do away with these events and just allow a 31 game schedule with more opportunities for better OOC games on campus

The problem, of course, is that most schools would use it as an excuse to play more OOC games against teams that have almost no chance of beating them.

Maybe but I whether they do away with them or not (which they won't), I think the major conferences should agree to just play each other in the OOC. Maybe do 3 "buy" games. This would be more entertaining for fans with attendance struggling mostly everywhere. And since everyone would doing it and would be in the same boat of taking a few extra losses than if they tried the usual RPI manipulation, you could get into the NCAAT with a record of say, 18-15 because your RPI would be pretty good.

Well you might think that that's what they should do, but it's pretty clear that it's not what they would actually do.

Remember when they switched to 12 football games one of the reasons given was that it would allow teams to play better non-conference games. With an extra game teams would be more likely to play someone good in a home and home rather than buying all home games against low level opponents. How did that work out?
