Smaller market teams in big conferences have to adjust their tactics to keep up. You see it with teams like us, South Carolina, WVU and so on, where the focus is shifting towards throwing money at highly rated redshirt freshman that want playing time. Are we going to see a shift where these teams recruit out of high school for long term (undersized athletes) and try to build them up with the intentions of playing time junior/senior+ year? Pitt is already getting access to recruits we would not have before. The Kentucky transfer is yet another example and will likely start this year. There is so much negatively from this sub about NIL…. Maybe it’s a good thing.
