I'd take him but he doesn't move the needle a ton. Solid 5th starter/backup just like Femi, Burton, Sibande. Can he play the point?

You’d need to dig into the numbers on this more, but I wonder if because Colgate shoots so, so, so many threes, their guys end up in situations where an outsized percentages of twos that they attempt are contested/bad/late in the shot clock. Might be deceiving.
On the other hand, he's a small guy who is a barely above average three point shooter. Is it any real surprise that a guy like that isn't a particularly good two point shooter?
From what little I’ve seen of him I really don’t think he could play the 2 in the ACC. Especially on the defensive end. Too small, for starters.
I would envision him being a poor man’s Charlie Moore. Similar stature and intangibles.
We need a Charlie Moore. Cummings is a scoring guard. Moore is a heady, pass-first, run the offense guy. I'd take Cummings but I don't know if he makes us better because I don't know if he can run the point good enough. Remember as good as Ashton Gibbs was, he was a pretty terrible point guard
Gibbs was an excellent shooter. Not particularly strong in any other aspect.
Beggars can't be choosers. Does he make the roster worse, the same, or better (even slightly)? Can't see a reason not to explore how he would fit here and if he can help the on court product improve.
I have seen him play twice. Against Pitt and the tournament loss. In both instances, he tried to be the man and failed badly.

GFY. I’ve been doing sports media for over a decade. I saw the talent in the kid. You people were too arrogant to see it. He’d like to go and be on a team where he can score and win a Tourney game or more. Pitt ain’t it.

If you are going to play him off the ball, sure. But Is he better than Burton and Nike?

For a year with all the openings, sure. He could be a depth piece regardless if he starts. Nobody says he has to run the show. He won’t be Charlie Moore II. Besides, lil‘ bro’ may be a target depending on his development.
