I agree. Why do we always fix what isn't broken.

The other one was much better, don't spend much time reading it because of how it is structured.

I'm a fan, especially after they tweaked the background to not be blaring white like it was initially.
My background remains that blaring white, is there a step needed to change that? I would add some background if possible, because this all white is hard on my eyes.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it brought Zarabluffda's drivel back.

I think it's faster and easier to keep up with the new posts, but then again I always used topic view anyway.
My only gripe is it doesn't always update after a post, unless I update manually.

I'm not a fan, I really like the thread view which enabled the use to choose --and aside from the obvious aesthetic differences, does anyone else find it to be really clunky/slow? I am on business class internet and WiFi all day and night but the site still takes forever to load, navigate through, etc, regardless of whether I'm on a PC, MacBook, iPad, iPhone etc. I do most of my posting from mobile devices and I've found the new format to be much more painstaking.

I can't see how anyone actually prefers this to the old format. But, it is what it is.

FWIW... I spend probably 2x more time on the boards now.

People will get used to the new format. It is better. It provides more information, quicker, easier, and more aesthetically.

If, in 3 months the old boards were brought back, the new-format-haters would be shocked at how antiquated the old format felt and would probably long for the days when they had the new format.

I think 25% of the posters on here just come to complain about SOMETHING.

I disagree with what you said. But I'm giving you a "like" because of George Costanza.

I'm happy we've been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I'm trying to figure out if this is an age thing. I'm an alum under 30 and I grew upon the internet before I found panther lair. Spent time on video game forums, card forums, paintball forums, etc. When I first came here 4 or 5 years ago I thought I'd gone back in time.

Guys, this is how message boards are supposed to look.

Be that as it may--it doesn't make it easier to navigate. I don't think this change is an improvement and seems more like change for the sake of change. The result is not terrible but it certainly doesn't seem to me to be an improvement.

Somewhat OT--Speaking more philosophically, there is a belief out there (and this goes far beyond message board design) that all change represents progress and is therefore good. Many folks don't recognize that change can be either good, bad or indifferent--and some change can be bad--sometimes even very very bad. We should always strive for change that is progress and is an improvement. On the other hand, we should strive to not "throw the baby out with the bath water" either. Keep what is good and improve what is bad!
