Just had dinner with a couple of friends last night. One of them is the coach of a new school coming to Washington, PA. He is very involved in the AAU world as well. Great guy that can coach and does things the right way. Loves working with the kids. He is the one that coached Imani Christian years ago.
The new school is called First Love Christian Academy. It will be located in Washington and I hope to go see the facilities next week. There is already one kid at the school, and he has about five foreign kids admitted and enrolled. All I will say at this point is that he has some kids with size coming in from all over. They have a house on the campus for the kids to live together, etc. Basically going to operate like a Notre Dame Prep.
It remains to be seen what this team will look like in Septermber, but he is not afraid to play anyone. They are playing Oak Hill and Huntington Prep next year, among other big-time programs. It will be fun to see how it develops, but it could certainly help Pitt and the local programs.
