-Care to list out the NBA players from Pitt the last 5 years? The Top 100 kids? The Mcdonald All Americans? How about true athletic ability in general?
I mean, the last 5 years you're getting into the 2011 and 2012 recruiting years, which were great on paper.
Top 100 per RSCI you had Khem Birch, Malcolm Gilbert, Durand Johnson, James Robinson, Steven Adams, Michael Young, Damon Wilson.
Birch was the lone McDonald's All-American because Adams was ineligible (he was technically a postgraduate during his semester at ND Prep, and 5th year players aren't allowed).
Adams and Patterson went to the NBA.
Overall I haven't minded the athleticism. It's probably around the same level it was previously.
I think the much maligned 2014 class of Cam Johnson, Sheldon Jeter, and Ryan Luther is significantly better than the 2010 and 2011 classes -- 2 of the more decorated classes Pitt has had.
The problem with Pittsburgh is it has no idea what it's looking at on the court, and just relies on recruiting stars to tell it who has talent and who doesn't. It's why you had people calling Ryan Luther the worst scholarship player ever at Pitt, and proclaiming the offense to be the best in the nation because it was lighting up Cornell, Eastern Washington, and Central Arkansas.
