Pitt offered Roanoke (Va.) Northside defensive end Carlos Basham Thursday night, and the Panthers vaulted to the top of his list. Basham told me that he will visit Pitt in two weeks and then plans to make a commitment on July 6. Offers from Maryland and/or Virginia Tech could change his plans, but as it stands right now, Pitt is the leader and seems poised to land his commitment on that day.
