Per his Marquette bio, he played at Syracuse and was a grad assistant there. Then he was with the Rockets for a year doing video stuff and college/international prospect scouting. Two years at Eastern Michigan as a video coordinator/DOBO, then nine years with Wojo at Marquette first as a video/DOBO guy, then the past two years as an on-court assistant.
Again, just like the last hire, you’re getting guys who have actual D1 experience as an on-court assistant (either successful low-majors or at a high major) coming in as staffers. It speaks well to the resource pool we have to work with, similar to how some of these big football programs are able to bring on experienced coaches as analysts or staffers.
So previously in addition to Regan (who seems to largely handle the logistics around the program with scheduling flights, etc.), for the last few years you’ve had Richards as the Director of Student Athlete Development, and then Ramon as the Assistant DOBO. Now, you have Ciepeski (sp?) as the “Chief of Staff,” Presutti as the AD for scouting (which I presume is going to be both advance scouting of opponents as well as prospects), and Gilbert Brown as the Alumni/Player outreach coordinator, which Ramon was doing a lot of. So you’re taking Richards’ role and some of Ramon’s and dividing it into two jobs, and taking the rest of Ramon’s job and giving it to Brown.
