next year

Sad that this is how two of the boards biggest losers spend their Thanksgiving weekends...

If Narduzzi doesn't get fired this year which he should maybe next year when they only win 2 games

There is almost no coach Pitt can bring in who will recruit well enough to win more.

Think about it as if Pitt were Boston College. Does it really matter who their coach is?

SU turned things around quickly with Brown. Key is doing a good job at GT. BOB is off to a good start at BC. Cignetti at IU. We are spending about 10 mil on the entire coaching staff. The next hire needs to be a young up and coming coach that is on the rise. Spend half that amount on the staff and provide incentives. Then put that extra money towards bringing in better players.

It all comes down to the boosters and how bad they want to win. $$$

Well, unfortunately, no hire right now is going to save us money. We'll be paying whatever we owe Narduzzi plus the new salary, unless he steps down. But in general, yes - you do need that new coach vibe every now and again to reinvigorate the boosters.

People dont want brown. Imagine the base if we were on the losing end of the cuse pitt game. 9-3 would be viewed as meh as it should.

This post sums up exactly why Pitt isn't a serious program.

No serious football program is looking to cut corners on staff to give more to NIL. They aren't looking to cut corners anywhere. They are tripping all over themselves to raise more & give more.

There's not a damn thing preventing Pitt's monied alumni, boosters, and fans from outbidding any other school for talent. They choose not to.

GT & BC are both 7-5. SMU is 9-3 & got curb stomped by Pitt. BOB & Cigs aren't really up and comers. O'Brien is a 55 year old retread and Cigs is 63.

IU is a product of their schedule.

GT, BC, Syracuse, and Pitt are all mediocre programs that enjoyed 15 minutes of fame or good pub in 2024. Good on them. That's their place in college football.
