I am as anxious as everyone regarding having no recruits for next year. I think a lot of us were hoping for improvement over last years team. We had good success early, then we win a couple of ACC Games and we all can see that the one thing holding Pitt back is some legitimate 4's and 5's. Some folks are saying we will have a better shot at the 2020 and 2021 classes due to relationships currently being made. Coach Capel went after some really big names. Jim said that many of the top post players made their decision prior to seeing how X and Tray have played. My frustration and anxiety have grown knowing that if we go into next year without any new big's we will be in for more of the same as this year.
Having said that I think Capel spoiled us all by pulling 3 rabbits out of his hat last summer. Then we heard the names he was after and assumed they would come. When I take a step back there is so much more time before next year. Transfers, players reclassifying, players that signed elsewhere that may get released from their commitment due to a coach leaving, there are a huge amount of possibilities. It all comes down to patience. I don't have many left after the last 2 years. It's hard to believe how 2 guys brought a top 25-40 program down that fast. It will take a couple of classes to overcome that. It would be nice to see into the future and view the roster so I could relax, but that ain't happening.
Bottom line is all we can do is wait and hope and believe in Capel.
