Los Angeles Rams - Already fired Fischer
Jacksonville Jaguars - Already fired Gus Bradley
Buffalo Bills - Rex Ryan is as good as gone
New York Jets - Todd Bowles is as good as gone
Cincinnai Bengals - They have seen enough of the mental breakdowns of a Marvin Lewis team.
San Diego Chargers - Mike McCoy just can't get this team to win

Indianapolis Colts - Chuck Pagano...was on the way out last year, if they miss playoffs..?
Chicago Bears - John Fox....this team is pathetic and needs blown up
San Fransisco - Chip Kelly...who the hell knows

With anywhere from 6-9 positions opened up, how many College football coaches go? I envision Brian Kelly getting one of these jobs and who knows what that does to his recruiting class. Guys like Lugg, Adams, Hinish etc can pledge their undying love for ND, but if a new coach comes in and wants his own guys...he can pass on them.

If Marvin Lewis were to get fired and that's a big if he would have a head coaching job in a few days. I don't see any college coaches jumping unless Mora decides he's done with college. The pool of possible coaches isn't really that deep this year.

If Im the Bengals...I fire Lewis....cut Burfict, Pacman, Kirkpatrick and that fat lineman (not Atkins...hes a stud)

Just start all over.

Jim Harbaugh would take the right job in a heartbeat. I could even see him going to Cincinnati.

The Rams are rumored to be hot after Jon Gruden. With a young QB like Goff, Gruden just may be interested.

Only job I would take, if I was Harbaugh, would be the Colts. You have to have a franchise QB to be successful in the NFL. Saban would still be the coach of the Dolphins if their medical staff would have ok'd Drew Brees instead of Dante Cullpepper.

I kind of agree with this. Lewis has gotten stale in Cincy, and needs to move on, but it's hard to forget what they were during the two decades before he arrived. I could see him doing what Andy Reid did, and being refreshed by a move to a new location. He might not win any playoff games, but he could probably bring winning football to Jacksonville or Buffalo.

I don't know why any NFL team would be interested in Brian Kelly. No one will offer him the kind of power he'd want over a roster and I doubt NFL players would warm up to his coaching style.

There was a lot of interest in him last year. One team might be willing to spin the wheel on him. NFL has the money to do that + if ND wants him gone, they can lower the buyout like we did with Dixon.

Talking about Gruden, you have to wonder if Bill Cowher would ever think about re-joining the ranks. I'm guessing his TV contract isn't even close to Gruden's.

Packers on a streak right now, but if they slip up and don't make the playoffs you can probably add McCarthy to that list as well.

When Cowher was out of football the first couple of years he thought about getting back in. He said the situation was never right. By that he meant he refused to consider a team that didn't have a franchise QB. You can't win without one. This is why Gruden getting back in would not be out of the question. The Rams have Jared Goff who Gruden loves.

It seemed like if he ever came back it'd be with a team like the Giants. They had an opening last year and he didn't bite. I think he's completely satisfied in his current, stress-free role.

I think his wife was probably the biggest reason Cowher never got back into coaching.

Curious why you say that? I know that when she died from melanoma he talked about being with his daughters more in NC, but that has long passed.

Yeah... then a little more time passes. By now, he's been out of the game for a decade. I really don't think Cowher is very high in demand right now.

As a younger guy could someone tell me why the big fuss about Gruden is? I know he won a super bowl but that was 15 years ago. He was 14 games over .500 in 11 years of coaching. Someone fill me in please!

Cowher isn't going back to the NFL grind. He has that cushy job, a pad in Manhattan, plenty of bank and that young girlfriend or wife who's a singer. I don't buy Gruden to LA either and who in the world would hitch their star toward Goff? I've seen rookies struggle, but this dude has no awareness as to what is going on around him on the football field. I've never seen a rookie quarterback look so clueless.

Cowher would never get an NFL job as good as the one he had. Part of his reluctance to return is probably some self doubt that he would be any good with another team.
