NFL scouts looking at former Pitt Qb Meyers

If you watch this kid's film from HS, he looked like a future NFL QB. We heard rumors that he simply lacked desire while at Pitt, and he moved on. If so, he won't make it at the next level, but if he now has the work ethic and desire, I can understand an NFL at least wanting to take a look at him, because he has all the tools.

He definitely has the all of the tools.
Graham did not like him and questioned his work ethic.

I was told he was a very talented QB

I know some coaches that know him very well. His lack of work ethic at the time was attributed to a lack of maturity. For the most part he was (and is) a good kid overall and extremely talented.

Mark was coached privately by the same folks that coached Connor Cook and Brian Hoyer (years ago) and I think even worked with Elvis Grbak (one of the coaches is in his late 60's). I believe Cardale Jones also worked with these guys. Hopefully Coach Narduzzi is checking in with those coaches for some future prospects. I get to see the kids these guys are working with close up these day and there are some really strong arms in the group. I'll have to get some names, but there are a few who look like they can throw the ball through a brick wall. The ball just explodes off their hands.

Can't blame him for leaving Pitt...

How many coaches did he have from the time he committed and move on? 3 or 4? I know people like to say a player commits to a school, but if you are a sought after pro style QB who commits to a pro style team and things change again and again... well that can't be fun.

Meyers was a great talent with low maturity.

sitting here 3 years later he may very well have grown up. I hope he gets a shot.

He was a Wannstedt/Cignetti recruit. When Graham came in, the writing was on the wall. Kid obviously made the 100% smart decision and got out. As everyone knows, Graham wants a certain type of QB to play his system. Mark was recruited to play a pro style offense...and obviously has the tools. Would surprise me if Marino would have been tossed aside by a guy like Graham. Hopefully Mark will become the next Joe Flacco and have a great NFL career. I wish him well! Hail to Pitt!

Absolutely, Meyers left Pitt because Chryst wanted nerds to watch game films all day. Shocker that a 20 year old kids wants a life besides football. I hope Meyers gets drafted and a NFL success to prove that a lot of college coaches are glorified high school coaches. Then Chryst can jokingly take credit for Meyers and Russell Wilson.

Shocker that a coach expects a kid to put forth some effort. I would hope Meyers has changed that work ethic because if he doesn't become a "nerd" and watch tons of film he won't survive till the first preseason game.
