We spent a lot of time this week discussing things we would change about hockey. Trust me, we only scratch the tip of the iceberg.

While we are on the subject, I only think it is fair to offer them kudos for being forward thinking enough to replace their bland and boring traditional All-Star game with a four-team, three-on-three mini tournament.

I absolutely love that idea!

Aside from the MLB ASG, which is tolerable at best, I detest All-Star games as a rule and I cannot remember the last one I watched one all the way through. However, I will definitely give this one a look because it might be interesting.

It got me to thinking, could the NBA do something similar to this? Maybe they could have a one-on-one tournament? That would be at least mildly interesting to watch.

I'm not sure if the NFL can do anything to fix it's game? They should consider just eliminating it all together.

Here's my ideas to add competitiveness.

Stanley Cup Champs vs NHL All Stars. Add some money to the pot for the winners. Winning players get $50,000. That's probably not enougu but if the Blackhawks are playing for pride to beat a team of all-stars, it might make the all stars play harder.

NFL
Best team who lost in conference semis vs NFL All Stars.

As disappointing as Steeler fans would be with losing in the semis, they would probably be really interested to see them going up against the all-stars.

Or
Vets vs Rookies
The rookies might play harder

Or
7 on 7 tournament

NBA game is fine. Its like an "And 1" game and people like that. The NBA ASG is the only game I watch all year because I appreciate the uninhibited skill.
