Had to lose Conner, put in New Systems, New QB, and New Running Backs and created much depth with younger players having to coach up!

The conditioning was superb (Thank You Coach Andrews, Addington-Strapp & Walker as well as Trainers Howe, Blanc & Dunlavey) all year long.

Pitt found new ways of winning instead of losing. Pitt beat the Teams they were suppose to beat and lost to teams that had more Talent!

The excitement generated by Coach Pat & Staff is backed up by his promise to make the Panthers better in their First Year! Iowa a Top Ten Team was a close loss.

All the Teams Pitt lost to had Great QBs. Pitt did not start off scoring in UNC, ND, and Miami could not catch up with poor execution against better Talent. Pitt Players slowed down by their Penalties (Not Refs), Missed Tackles, Missed Blocks, Missed Sacks, and Dropped Passes and FGS and in Miami Overthrown Passes caused those defeats. BUT PITT NEVER QUIT & LEARNED FROM THOSE DEFEATS!

Pitt has QB Peterman back next year and that brings stability to any Program. When Pitt adds just few more Whiteheads to their recruiting they will be better next year too, not 2 or 3 years from now? Coach Narduzzi will have this Program Winning 10 games within 2 years or less.

As MIAMI, VT and CUSE and perhaps UVA & UNC replace Head Coaches. Pitt will now have advantage of having a Superb Head Coach & Staff that loves coaching up all Players and Players love learning to become a better Team as the year goes along.

Next Year Pitt adds Penn State, Oklahoma State, and Clemson and we all will be able to see the measurement of improvement next year against the Big-12, Big Ten and ACC Atlantic!

This is a Young Turn Around Team with a bright future and Coaching Staff that loves being at Pitt and you have to admire the Spunk of this Coaching Staff, Recruits and Players into becoming Complete Teams.

The New Chancellor at Pitt knows how to select the right people to make Pitt even better and the New Athletic Director and New Head Coach that are now no longer new have done more in one year to turn around this Program, than the last 5 years of inconsistent mediocrity! There is no need for any of them to hold a Press Conference and give excuses because there is no malaise at Pitt except for a few Posters!

Just have to say one more thing...........PITT IS IT!

Cap good post. While at the game you could see this team was not in the right frame of mind at the start. Peterman had his worst game and the D had a hard time making stops in the first half. The Dooz made his usual halftime adjustments and the U could only muster 2 field goals while the PITT offense was still finding itself. The 4th belonged to PITT and with just a little luck or better execution would have pulled this game out. The best part of the game was PITT not quitting no matter the score or the time on the clock. I like this team, I like this coaching staff.

I think Boyd needs to stay a year, would help his stock immensely. He needs to get stronger IMO. But it will depend if the scouts say he's a first round lock or not. As far as Peterman today, Miami did a good job making him feel uncomfortable in the pocket so he couldn't set his feet. He had a less than stellar game. Dooz did make solid halftime adjustments and the U got a little conservative and that helped us get back in the game-- we almost pulled this off but shot ourselves in the foot with several mistakes (missed FGs, floated passes and coverage skills against their passing game was a problem all day, just like UNC and ND games). DLine was handled again pretty well today too, they did seem to get a little more pressure later in the game). PITT kept fighting, I love that. We are a few playmakers away from being special again.

If I was his Adviser I would wait talk to some Sports Lawyers & NFL Scouts and determine my Draft Pick Position. Anything in the 1st to 2nd Round he should go Pro. Same with Conner but would add 3rd & 4th rounds to him!

What do you think!

"pbrad, post: 562964, member: 3206"]Cap good post. While at the game you could see this team was not in the right frame of mind at the start.
Thanks PBrad, good to hear what others see at games. Also, Miami was ready for a fresh and good start, just like UNC and ND before them, the way I saw it on TV! VERY GOOD INSIGHTFUL POST OF YOUR OWN AS WELL, BACK AT YOU!

Peterman had his worst game and the D had a hard time making stops in the first half.
No question, Peterman got rattled throwing that first pick, was off his passes in the first and early 2nd half, but RB Blocking was missing again until Hall took over. Peterman did not throw many Picks this year and that hurt him and he could not shake it off until the later Third Quarter. Peterman was learning every game but I did expect better by the 10th, 11th games and he did do it. This 12th game was a letdown but that happens!

Miami was ready and had the OL Talent to handle Pitt Blitz Attacks, just like UNC and ND! Pitt gave up too many 3rd Downs and Miami QB was able to pull it off without Pitt getting to him!

Pitt needs way more Defensive Talent and it is coming this year and they will be better next year even if Price has to leave. OInce Pugh, Gilbert, and if possible better DBs like Hamlin come to Pitt that could help Whitehead to replace Boyd on Offense as far as I am concern!

The Dooz made his usual halftime adjustments and the U could only muster 2 field goals while the PITT offense was still finding itself.
Yep, so true, but it took a little too long and Pitt missing those FGS hurt big time, but Blewett won more games for Pitt this year!

The 4th belonged to PITT and with just a little luck or better execution would have pulled this game out.
You know you make a great point there and let me augment it. Pitt had wins against YSU, VT, UVA, GT, and CUSE by just a tad points. As well as lost to Iowa, UNC, ND and Miami by a few! So, execution came up late in the first 5 wins and last 4 losses??? Pitt multiple Penalties miscues in UNC, ND, and this Miami game were also mistakes that cost the wins.

The best part of the game was PITT not quitting no matter the score or the time on the clock. I like this team, I like this coaching staff.
Get use to it ALL YEAR LONG is not an exception.....IT IS IS A TREND & HALLMARK NOW AT PITT!

We were VERY close to winning this game.

If Blewitt's first half 47 yarder sneaks through instead of hitting the post and Miami's kicker misses just one of his 5 field goals, (he made 2 from 47-48 yards) we win 27-26.

Totally agree on your points. Hope Narduzzi stays a long long time because we will be a force no doubt about it
