...was just awful
he's a turnover machine
can't shoot
can't pass
so many dumb things
still he persists

if Horton manages to make it back Odukale needs some serious pine time
he looked good at the end of last year
no progress this yr

He was not very good offensively, but he did have a very good defensive game.

I don’t know- he didn’t force offense, made good decisions passing against the zone and played good defense. Did well enough to help them win.

Let's be real here guys.
He had a bad gaame.
He was 1-8 from the
field, 0-5 on his 3's.
an 0-1 FT's. Worse than
that was his 2/4 assist
to TO ratio. Off shooting
can happen, true. The
Assis/TO ratio is bad for
a supposed pg. Thank
God Burton and Ezzy
are also in the backcourt.
Those two (especially
Burton) have stabalized
the backcour the last several
games.

For the umpteenth time, I
realize Femi's talent, but he
is not an effective pg. I do
believe he's capable of
being one of our better
players. I also believe a
lot of his problems are
in his head.

Okudale was so strong driving to the hoop last year. I have to think having Horton on the perimeter helped a bit, now they are already congesting the paint to defend Hugley so it makes it hard for Okudale to navigate through the morass of defenders. Add to the fact that the D doesn't have to really respect Femi's outside shot, it is tough.

Odukale has had his struggles, but he's the type of player I'd like to see Jeffress become at this point. Someone who can give you 10 pts, 4 reb, 4 asst and can competently defend and ball handle. He's miscast in his role as a starting PG, but on a good team with a reliable PG he'd be a nice 4th, 5th or 6th guy.

I agree. Right now is a
period of adjustment for
him. Burton is doing more
out front along with Ezzy.
Femi went into the high
post on several occasions.
He was so-so in there. He
looked to pass low to Mo,
and he tried to hit the J
in the lane...right idea but
mixed results. I'd like to see
him more on the wing and
not force the drives. Now,
if he could the 3 from there,
we'd have something.

I have no hope in Femi or Jeffress ever being able to shoot the 3 ball. Their shots are just terrible.

Femi's best hope is to transform himself into a Jaron Brown type of player. He's not a primary ball handler and he's not a shooter.

I don't get why some kids can't massively improve their shooting with hours and hours in the gym. I was a shooter, but I practiced a ton. went through 5 or 6 pairs of Converse All Star tennis shoes a year. it is not that hard to learn a proper form, and repeated practice should allow a player to show tremendous improvement.

Femi's been a disappointment. Yes, he shouldn't be a PG. But the other problem is, what he's supposedly good at - getting to the rim and getting fouled - is undercut by the fact that his FT shooting is abysmal.

Well, I'm close to giving up
on Jeffress. As for Femi, he
has to play somewhere. He's
not a pg, and should be able
to be effective as a three. His
shooting problems are mental
IMO.
