What a wild weekend in Tulsa!
Here’s my story on Pitt’s first champ since Gavin: https://pittsburgh.rivals.com/news/bonaccorsi-gives-pitt-first-national-title-in-15-years
Nice article Eric and GREAT win for Nino !!!!!! ..... I thought the worst when Nino was down 3-0 but he has the offense (and also did a good job riding) ...... so happy for Nino and Pitt wrestling !!!!! ..... and a special thanks to you Eric for the GREAT job you do on this board discussing Pitt wrestling, much appreciated !!!!

i had a tear in my eye last night it was fantastic i have watched that kid come over to peters with his dad when he was just out of diapers and rolling around with other diaper wearers. He worked his entire life to be a champ and now he is.

If you haven’t yet seen it, find the full press conference. Pa Power should be posting it on Rokfin - and I might even be able to upload it somewhere on here when I get home - but it’s must watch. Nino was so emotional talking about his journey, his dad and even coach Gavin. His joy was just overwhelming. Such a special moment for Pitt athletics.

Thank you. I picked a good year to start working for Panther-Lair, right? It’s been a fun ride and helped me get to know folks in the program, which I hadn’t been close to in a long time.

What’s Ninos plan for next year Eric? Micky’s as well? Would love to hear that in the near future after they have some time to digest the weekend

That's one thing that I didn't get a chance to ask Nino last night. I plan to catch up with him once things settle down a little bit for him and ask.
I talked at length with Micky yesterday during the Pitt social event and have a lot of great stuff from it. He's planning on going into coaching. Hopefully, I can shed some light on that in the next few weeks.
I also want to do a deep dive into his backstory, which is pretty powerful.

I was in Tulsa for Nationals... watching Nino win was one of my best and favorite moments as a proud Pitt alum... it was awesome to see him display his grit, determination, and resilience after going second, not making All American, to winning it all... that's wrestling the greatest individual sport there is in my opinion! Hail to Pitt and salute to Nino.
