nm: I see a lot of empty seats ...

Pathetic showing by the zoo.

I guess if the team isn't going to show up, neither are the fans.

Weak effort early on with the season on the line.

Where was The Zoo and the we have your back crap???? They had to fill in some of the Zoo seats with walk-in customers and moving some people down. Pathetic, truly pathetic for The Zoo to say what they did then not show up. I can handle people not going to the games and being honest about it. But this was just a piss poor showing by The Zoo.

You do realize the Zoo is made up of 1400 individual people right? They aren't some monolithic hive-mind.

Regardless of the reason, it was a poor display by the students and ticket holders alike. The horse is out of the barn that made The Pete a tough environment for visitors and electric for spectators. It's just another venue right now.

Of course it was bad, especially since they boasted for the UVa game that it was the largest Zoo attendance ever. That doesn't mean the Zoo leaders were insincere in trying to rustle up as much support as they could. As it was in 2012, it isn't an easy thing to do to convince kids to come cheer for a bad team.

Oh, I don't disagree with you and I'm not doubting the sincerity of the Zoo leaders. I think the scene in the stands and the developments on court were a perfect reflection of the current state of Pitt basketball, honestly. Everywhere you looked, there was "struggle".

Maybe for the "stripe-out" against Louisville, they'll just alternate sections of yellow shirts with empty blue seats.

That's a GOOD thing! If the place was full and lively, the leadership could think, "They'll gladly buy any shht we shove at them"... Maybe now they'll think, "Uh-oh, maybe we need to improve the product, asap."

Yep, the stripeout could be more of a blue out unless we beat Syracuse.

That's my point. I know The Zoo isn't one monolith. It's a bunch of kids. They didn't show up for obvious reasons after trying to drum up as much support for a bad team as they could. I just hope that The Zoo and the fans are there against Duke to give JRob some love and thank him for being one of the best PG's we've had at Pitt, if not spectacular. He's not flashy, but he is steady and if it weren't for him last night, we lose to a really bad WF team.
