No base for baseball?

Fingers crossed that one of the jewels of our recruiting class, Mason Ronan, from Penn Cambria, doesn't get drafted.

I understand that not many HS guys were taken out of PA this year, but when you look at who got drafted out of college that were from PA ithere's plenty of talent here. A lot talent at schools like Louisville, UVA, Indiana, Cincy, etc were all PA guys.

A couple names that come to mind over the years: Mike Papi, Ian Happ, Brendan Mckay, John Sansone, Alex Kiriloff.. Talent in PA is not the problem.

This year seems to be odd as there are typically more PA HS players drafted, but there are so many factors year in and year out. This year definitely skews more college heavy in general--at least for earlier rounds.

That's a good sign, at least for us. If he was drafted in the first 10 rounds he would have likely turned pro. 29th round basically means that he's unlikely to turn pro unless he really doesn't want to go to school.

If the offer is well over slot, he’s gonna go. I don’t think it will be.

But that's the thing. If they thought he was worth well over slot they would have picked him long before the 29th round. His "slot" value doesn't change once they get past the 10th round and if you really want him why would you wait to pick him? It's literally all downside with no upside to wait that long to pick him if you want him enough to pay over slot.
