I want to make a post here just so there is no misunderstanding:

This forum is not for discussing politics. This is a pretty hard-and-fast rule and it should be easy to follow. Don't talk politics here. That's not what this forum is for. We can discuss a lot of things here, but not that. Doing that will get posts deleted and repeated deletions will lead to a revocation of posting privileges.

There's no need for debate or discussion on this topic. There are plenty of places on the Internet to have those conversations; this isn't it.

Thanks.

Did the dedicated wrestling board get removed with the locker room board by mistake?

This is a real shame, actually. The PSU, WVU and OSU Rivals sites all have moderated, off topic forums for the fans. I guess it's a Pitt thing to know better than our peers and do things differently.

It wouldn't have been difficult to kick off the small number of problem posters. Or just appoint several posters to moderate the Locker Room.

I encourage any paid subscribers to unsubscribe.

The problem is (was) as someone who's participation in the LR really waned, it just became nothing but a shouting match. Even when someone posted an interesting topic to discuss and debate, it would either be ignored or would devolve into more shouting. It literally became verbal tic tac toe. So you reap what you sow, and I believe in that. People couldn't stop the shouting and they got what they deserved.

And this is from a long time advocate, and much often defender (and banned) poster of the Locker Room. It just reflects too much in our society, if we aren't trying to even attempt to get along and hear each other. It's not worth having. I wish Chris could do the same to my Twitter timeline. because a buncha people are getting ready to be muted by me.

Again, it really is a handful of posters who cause 99% of the issues. Bad apples spoil the bunch. I have offered to moderate that place. It wouldn't be difficult.

That’s where I disagree. The best people to talk politics with are people who you have at least something in common with. So while people on both sides of the political aisle think Souf and SMF are d0u€heb@g$, at least they’re both Pitt guys and not some anti facist facist from Portland. And my wife is on some crazy stuff on Facebook. I’m not going there!
But a break from politics is welcomed.

I get what you're saying, Fk. And I agree to some extent. It's is unfortunate that we have no forum on a Pitt board for good discussion of current events not related to sports. The problem I have is that frequently those discussions devolved into pi$$ing contests with the posters who were only there to aggravate with inflammatory and stupid responses that contributed nothing. We know who they are. So as for me, I'm better off not interacting with them and getting deeper into their meaningless nonsense.

I don't get on twitter or facebook or snapchat or any of those forums. So for political discussions, I have no where to go. Maybe parler, but that is being censored from what I hear. So I live without the discussions, knowing it will improve my sex life. 😜

Yes please all of you unsubscribe.

IMHO, it is far deeper than not trying to get along and listen to one another. We are at a point where there are two sides in this country who have diametrically opposed world views and don’t even agree on basic premises. It formerly was that there was basic agreement on the basic premises and there could be, and was, debate mostly about what approach to take to reach a mutually agreed on desired outcome. Now the two sides don’t even want the same outcome. When things are at such a juncture it isn’t possible to listen and get along because there is no common ground on which to meet.

So, let’s keep political positions off the Board and stick to Pitt sports where there is the common ground of all being Pitt fans from which to debate and get along. We all want the same outcome—Pitt success!

then rename the board. It is not on the athletic sites. Pitt people have other interests but are still Pitt people. Really not that hard.
